Medical outreach and tennis day
The outreach event sponsored by the Tonolli Foundation was successfully held last Sunday, July 27, at the ASD Tennis Verbania courts.
The “Vittorio and Livia Tonolli” Foundation for Cardiology and Multidisciplinary Sciences, in collaboration with FIT-certified coaches and the managers of Tennis Verbania, organized a day dedicated to amateur sports and medical prevention on Sunday, July 27.
In the presence of the Foundation’s President, Massimo Riggio, and the President of Tennis Verbania, Massimo Aicardi, around thirty tennis players competed throughout the day in a doubles tournament. At the end of the morning, everyone attended an educational session titled “Know Your Body to Play Better”, presented by Dr. Leonardo Rotolo, a cardiologist based in Verbania.
Dr. Rotolo—former Chief Medical Officer of the Cardiology Department at the Verbania hospital—delivered a talk highlighting key medical statistics and the importance of carefully interpreting the results of preventive medical tests to ensure their effectiveness in a broad and meaningful way.
An engaging Q&A session with the audience followed his presentation.
The participants expressed their deep appreciation for the valuable information shared. This initiative, now carried out in a sports setting, adds to the many others organized over the years by the Tonolli Foundation, all with the aim of promoting medical awareness even beyond traditional healthcare environments.
